Versatile Blogger Award

 Guess who's back :D
Some of you may have noticed that I was gone for about a week or so. In all honesty I haven't really been gone for a good reason. I've just been visiting lazy town and well I've been sucked down the endless Netflix whole >.<
I never thought I'd be the one to get sucked in by a Mexican telenovela (Rebelde if any of you are familiar with it? it was recently added on Netflix and I haven't been able to stop watching! The sad part is that I'm only on episode 51 and theres a total of 215 episodes!! in just the first season *crying face emoji*)

So I decided to start back by posting the Versatile Blogger Award. I was tagged by the amazing and lovely Rainbow and the wonderful four best friends from H.A.L.E.
I really enjoy reading what these ladies have to say and I think that you'll really like them as well ;) So go check them out, you won't regret it <3

The rules for the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

-Thank the person who gave you this award.
-Include a link to their blog.
-Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you've recently discovered or follow regularly.
-Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
-Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

7 Things about Me :

1.  I was born with a head full of hair; people thought it was a wig and would ask if they could pull my hair to make sure that it wasn't a wig (why they would do that to a baby? I don't know but hey whatever helps them sleep at night right? haha)

Here's a picture from my new born years
and one just to show off my baby afro

2. I'm a very easily paranoid and scared person. If there's anything you need to know about me, that's definitely it.

3. I like to lock myself in my room, blast music to sing and dance along to music, and pretend that I'm performing at my concert in front of millions. ( I love all my fans *blows kiss* ;)

4. I've worn glasses since I was in Kinder, Therefore I feel most confident with them on. (I blame my sister for this because monkey see, monkey do)

5. I'm a natural fast walker; my feet move much faster then my body that I think I strain my leg muscles whenever I walk and people think I'm running away from something.

6. Sometimes I have trouble finishing a joke because I'm laughing to hard at the ending.

7.  I'm not a lucid dreamer because I can't control my dream but I can be conscious during it and recognize that it is a dream so I'll tell myself it's a dream while I'm dreaming and continue on dreaming. Does that happen to anyone else?

I hope you guys enjoyed the post :) I'm not going to specifically tag anyone for this because I think a lot of people have already done this so if you want to do it feel free to ;) and I'd love to check it out <3

What are some random facts about you? :)

June Playlist : Elastic Heart

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

 Hello
We are mid way through July and I am now just posting about this haha. But hey you can never go wrong with some music recommendations at any time of the month right?
Here are some of the songs that I've been loving all throughout June and still through this month.
In a playlist I like to call Elastic Heart (clearly named after Sia's amazing song!!), because this month I've been trying to just be at peace with myself. One thing that I became aware of is that (like the song says) "I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard. Yeah,I may snap and I move fast but you won't see me fall apart 'cause I've got an elastic heart". I just love the way Sia portrays feelings through music! I think she captures what I want to say so well, it's like she has the power to put feelings into words <3

1. Elastic Heart

When I first saw that Sia released an album I immediately had to check it out. It honestly didn't quite catch my attention the first time I listened to it. I kind of brushed it off until one day when I was coming back home from the store with my sister and this song came on the radio. I didn't even think twice before I put the volume up and started to sing along to it :D Now it's the song I've been singing my heart out to. I'll admit the video can be a little questionable haha but nonetheless amazing! Sia has been using dance to show a lot of emotion in her videos and I'm loving it <3

2. Adore - Jasmine Thompson

I just adore this song ;) I love Jasmine Thompson's voice, I think it's so sweet!! and if you haven't noticed by now it's one of my favorites, right up there with raspy voices <3 I had to add both her original and acoustic versions to my playlist!

3. Good For You - Selena Gomez

This songs is seriously so good! I don't know why there was so much controversy for this song. I think people just took it all out of context, I mean there is absolutley nothing wrong with wanting to look good for someone you love. I mean if it was for the sole purpose of looking good just to impress someone else then okay I'd get it, but it's not like she was being forced to do it. And Selena has been working hard to find who she is and become comfortable with herself and I think she did and is doing an amazing job!

4. Eyes Wide Open - Sabrina Carpenter

My sister loves Sabrina carpenter!  I had to listen to this constantly and to be honest I wasn't bothered by it haha. I still love disney channel and am no stranger to liking their music haha. I've really been loving this song and I have to admit Sabrina Carpenter has some pretty good songs!!

5. Emergency - Icona Pop

From the second this song starts to the second it ends, you can't help but dance to this song.

6. Call Your Girlfriend - Robyn

This song is definitely my most favorite song this month!! and the video just makes me so much more pumped to hear it <3 Why have I never heard of her before??!?!? I honestly think I've annoyed Daisy with this song by now.

7. Lifeboat - Janet Devlin

So I recently heard this song playing during the 15 minute previews they usually show before a movie and I fell in love! This is supposed to be an acoustic cover but you honestly can't hear the difference, just comes to show how amazing this girl is!! :D

8. Nothing Without Love -Nate Ruess

I want to go on a road trip just so that I can play this song non stop while looking out the car window and pretending like my life is a movie. *Queue me running through New York running to catch the love of my life* Ugh! I just love this song!

9. Can't Feel My Face - The Weeknd

If you haven't heard this song yet, here I am to save the day :D It's the latest buzz and my ears can clearly hear why!! Seriously does The Weeknd even have a bad song out there?

I hope you guys enjoy these songs as much as I have been loving them :)
What have you been listening to lately?

8 Photos of Happiness

Hiiii :)
I was tagged by the lovely Lou (Lou's World) to do the 8 photos of happiness tag. I would like to start off by mentioning that you should all go over and check out Lou's blog because it is pretty amazing if you ask me, and she puts a lot of thought and effort into her posts which I'm sure you will love ;)

I would also like to say that you should also check out the creator of the tag: Ariel because she has a really great blog and I mean she created such an awesome tag about happiness! :)

The Rules

Thank your nominator/s and link them in the post
Link the creator Ariel
Post your 8 photos of happiness (the photos can be anything that represents a moment, object, place or feeling that makes you happy)
Pop in a brief description of the photo, why you chose it or let the photos do the talking!

Spread the happiness and tag up to ten other bloggers!

1. California

Most of my childhood (and the best part of my childhood) was spent in Seaside California. I made life long friendships and had my first best friend ever. Unfortunately we lost contact but I don't like to connect bad feelings with good memories. Even though we may have grown apart (we sometimes will talk again but it's never the same as it was) I like to look back at these pictures and just remember the good times we had. I will never forget the bond we had and the memories we made together

2. Favorite Snacks

I wouldn't be preaching happiness if I didn't get to talk about my favorite snack combo!! Hot Cheetos and circle K coke icee's. Now (here comes the sad part - I'll need a moment after this) circle K had always had the best fine ice icee's, they recently (well what feels like forever ago) changed to a new machine and now their icee's are more like slushies. Which I don't hate, but I would much rather have their old icee's!! I'll never be able to experience it again :'( but it was nice while it lasted and I will forever remember it! ♥ As for the hot cheetos; I'm walking on egg shells with these, but I can eat them everyday If I could. It's like once you have one you just can't stop!

3. Sisters

I know I don't show it often but I do love my sisters so much!! I am grateful for them and wouldn't trade them for the world. I sometimes like to do little things for my sisters like have a tea party with them or send them on scavenger hunts (yes I'm 18 but really who doesn't like pretending like they're royalty sipping out of fancy cups?!). Let's just say my sister wasn't always the best at spelling and this was one of my prizes for a scavenger hunt that she sent me on. I won, if you couldn't tell and I won some pretty great coupon prizes :D haha

4. Sunsets and Sunrises

This is a picture of me during a sunset and it reminds me of serenity. I absolutely love sunsets! Especially during the golden hour where everything is just so beautiful!

5. Diasy

I don't really think I have to explain this one. Daisy is the love of my life and she just means the world to me

6. Trip to New Mexico

I have a post talking about my trip here. The post doesn't go too much into detail but it was so much fun! and one of the best things I ever experienced. It was also my first time seeing snow so that alone is just pure happiness.

7. My Macbook

I know this one is a little bit more materialistic but I have always wanted a mac book pro and being able to buy it all on my own with my own money makes it so much more meaningful to me.

8. Me Time & Music

Last but not least, me time. I love having time to myself where I can just enjoy some peace & quiet and listen to music. Music makes me so happy!! I love finding new music that instantly catches my attention and just makes me want to sing and dance along to it. Lately I've also been doing a lot of reading which is really nice. I like getting lost in a book. I also love to catch up on youtube and watch movies on Netflix.

I Tag:

"The Unwritten Rule" and "Eleanor & Park" Book Review

Thursday, July 9, 2015

Hello beautiful people :)
I would like to start off by admitting that my reviews aren't really reviews but more commentary like. I'm really not the best at reviews because I am so horrible at not spoiling things, but I will try my best not to. I recently finished reading two amazing, amazing books : "The Unwritten Rule" and "Eleanor & Park". Both of these books where read within the course of 2-3 days. I know some can read it in a day, but it usually takes me a bit longer because it takes me a while to get into the book enough for me to want to finish it that same day. Nonetheless once I read these books I could not put them down and I wish I had not read them so that I could read them all over again with that same feeling and emotion I did the first time! The Struggle! haha

1. "The Unwritten Rule" - Elizabeth Scott

This book took me a couple of chapters to really get in to, but once I read up to the point where the characters where at a party, I was hooked. Sara and Brianna have been friends for a really long time. Brianna was always the more popular and 'attractive' looking one. Sara was the quiet one who was kind of like the shadow of Brianna. Brianna always got all the boys, leaving sara to be sort of like her "DUFF". Guys who were into and who had been 'heart broken' by Brianna would go to Sara for advice. One day a guy named Ryan; whom Sara had - had a crush on, asks Sara to a school dance. In the end Brianna ends up with Ryan; even though she knew that Sara had a crush on him. Sara being the friend that she is didn't do anything about it. Eventually Sara was forced to hang out with Brianna and her new boyfriend, Ryan. Let's just say one thing lead to another Sara was now forced to choose between her best friend and the guy she liked.
*WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD*
Here's my comments on this. I didn't like Brianna's character. I felt bad for how her situation at home was, but the way she treated Sara was unacceptable. What Sara did to Brianna was also unacceptable. Brianna and Sara both did things that they should not have done!! but what Brianna did was way worse. Treating Sara like she was nothing was just really messed up. It boiled my blood as I read along and Sara never did anything to really defend herself. I get that she didn't want to hurt Brianna because she really cared about her but she should have said something and not just let Brianna tell her off and belittle her. I was happy that Sara gets her way in the end because it should have been like that since the beginning. It was sad that Brianna and Sara did not end on good terms, but Brianna was a total bitch okay I'm not going to sugar code that because she was!!

2. "Eleanor & Park" - Rainbow Rowell

I was instantly hooked on this one! I read the first couple of pages and I could not put the book down.  I just loved this book so much!! I loved that it's not your typical love story where the girls falls for the guy. In this case the guy kind of falls more for the girl. I love how imperfect this book is; Eleanor is not your typical lead role character. Eleanor's parents were divorced, she lived with her mother, her mother's husband, and her 5 siblings. When Eleanor moves to a new neighbor hood she is forced to go to a new school. When she gets on the bus she is instantly an 'outcast'. Every seat on the bus had already been taken; Park noticed how scared she looked so he unwillingly told her to sit down next to him. Eleanor knew right away that Park didn't like her... Or did he? ;)
*WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD*
Okay I just want to talk about how cute Eleanor & Park are!!! I love how they just slowly started falling for each other and I loved how much Park cared for her. Let's fast forward to the end of the book. At first I didn't know how to feel about Eleanor leaving and then completely cutting Park off after he leaves her at her uncles house and especially after all the trouble he has gone through to help her. I mean he wrote to her and she never responded to him and in the end she just sends him a post card!? with three words that make him smile?? that's all the book says, it doesn't even tell you what she says! I threw the book at this moment because I was just so frustrated by the ending!! After I let myself cool down for a bit, I realized that those 3 words were "I miss you" which was their thing. Park was always telling Eleanor how he missed her <3 :'). I now understand that Eleanor did not want to write him back because it hurt too much not knowing if she would be able to return. Being apart from each other was hard on the both of them and even after being apart for a while, their love for each other was as strong as ever! I really wish there was a second part to this book because I really want to see them together again!!

There you have it :D Another one of my not so review type book reviews haha. I tried to keep things short and without revealing too much. I hope you guys enjoyed :)

Have you read either of these books? What did you think of them? What are some of the books that you've been reading and loving lately?

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Thursday, July 2, 2015

Hello Everyone :)

I was tagged/nominated by the lovely and amazing Jess (Springbaby06) to do the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award tag. I would first of all like to thank her for tagging me and secondly (if that's a word? it doesn't sound like a word to me at the moment haha) go and check out her blog because it is amazing and you won't regret it ;)

The rules are to thank the blogger who tagged you, answer the questions left for you, make 10 new questions, tag 10 other bloggers to do the award and put the logo somewhere on your blog.

Questions Asked & Answered

1. What is your biggest pet peeve?

My biggest pet peeve would have to be arrogant/cocky people. Now I know I've said it before but I can't stress enough how much it bothers me!

2. If you could change anything in your life right now, what would it be?

One thing that I would change is caring less about what people think and start doing more things that I want to do, like start a youtube channel. I think way too much about what people might say that I keep pushing it off, but I've always wanted to do it so I think I will ... As soon as I feel a little more comfortable and ready haha

3. What is your most embarrassing story?

Ah, this is a hard one but I'm going to have to go with the time that I was in a public restroom about ready to wash my hands and a woman kindly points out that I had toilet paper hanging out of my pants *face palm*!!

4. What is something no-one knows about you?

I had to think about this one and I'm not sure if this is really a good answer but I tend to turn everything into a song or dramatic performance. I've always loved the idea of being in a broadway musical or acting and so I like to take my chances when I see them. And I only ever do this around my family because that's who I'm most comfortable around so technically not a lot of people know about this.

5. If you had to rename your blog, what would you name it? (Sorry, but I'm curious!)

I'm actually not really all that sure? hmm. Maybe I'd go with a pun since my name can be played in so many ways and me being as cheesy as I am that's probably what I'd do haha

6. 1f you had $1000 to spend, what would you buy?

I'd buy a good camera so that I can make youtube videos (I've thought about this before haha) or I would use the money to redecorate my room! :D

7. What is your favourite colour to paint your nails?

Maroon colors are my favorite.

8. Do you pee in the shower? (There are two types of people in this world, people who pee in the shower, and liars - Jenna Marbles)

9. What is your favourite piece of furniture in your house? (Bed excluded.)

I recently got a dresser that has a big gap where I can store some of my stuff and it has a little board that pulls out where I can place my laptop or food when I'm eating and I like to think of it as my little office.

10. What is your biggest hope/dream that you want to accomplish?

I've always wanted to be in the movie business. Whether that be that I am a director, an actor, an editor, a set designer, a talent agent, you name it. I've just always been so interested with behind the scenes stuff and it would be my ultimate goal to work in a place like that. If we're talking big dreams then I want to work for Ellen!!!

I Tag :
Marianne - Don'tBurstMyBubble
Brooke - Brooke Wrote
Lou - Lou's World
Coba - Let's Coba
Mafer - Concientizando

* As always you are not obligated to do the tag :) and if you've already been tagged; the more the merrier right? ;) haha but you are also not obligated to do the tag again.

My Questions for you :

1. If you could only attend one concert for the rest of your life but you got to choose the artists that performed, which 5 artists (bands count as one) would you want to see?
2. What made you want to start a blog?
3. What song is stuck in your head right at this moment?
4. If you could go back in time to fix any mistake what mistake would you fix?
5. If there was one thing you can do right now at this moment regardless of money what would you do?
6. If your life was a movie what movie would you want it to be?
7. If you could be the lead role in your favorite movie, what movie would you like to act in?
8. *I came across this on tumblr yesterday and I didn't really get the name of the blogs who posted this so I looked it up on google and it seems that it was (I-amwho-I-am and I couldn't find the second person's blog name)* so this question was not mine but I'm so curious to see what you have to say!!!
"If a guy in a hoodie comes up to you and hands you a giant book about your entire life, would you read it to the end? "(plot twist: "What if you read up to where you are now and then you realize that there's only three pages left when you get there"?!?!)
9.  Grab your phone -> open up your music app -> put your phone on shuffle -> The first song that pops up will describe your love life. What song is it? :D
10. If you were given the chance to go on a date with your celebrity crush who would you choose?

I hope you guys enjoyed the post :D I'd love to see some of your answers to the questions I asked in the comments! I'm thinking of making a separate post where I answer them myself :) Hope you all have a lovely day <3

"Take a chance"

xoxo,
Crystal
